Camp Butwin Philosophy
Camp
Butwin creates a friendly and cooperative atmosphere that fosters
individual growth at the camper's own pace. Campers are encouraged
to learn new skills and master old ones, to express themselves
creatively and to grow in their ability to relate to others.
In
this supportive environment, a true sense of community develops.
By building a feeling of both independence and involvement in
community, and developing individual abilities to the fullest,
each camper at Camp Butwin excels.
The Butwin Program Values These Goals
To
enhance Jewish identity through positive involvement in Jewish
culture and informal education around Jewish and Israeli themes.
To
encourage campers to build self-confidence and self-esteem by
learning new skills.
To
create an environment where campers can acquire an education for
safe and healthful living.
To
create an attitude and interest where the natural world and the
great outdoors are understood, respected and appreciated.
To
develop socialization skills through peer group interaction.
To
enhance each individual camper's growth and development through
a variety of activities.
