The
Jean Harris Sid Froman aquatic facility, built in 2000,
is a highlight and central focus for activity at camp. All
campers spend at least one period a day at the pool for
Free Swim. All campers spend an addition three periods per
week building swimming skills. Galim and Sabra have three
swimming lessons per week. Kfar, Kibbutz and Tzofim have
two swimming lessons and one period of water sports per
week. Our pool can accommodate water volleyball, water polo,
and full court water basketball.
The
camp pool is an "L" shape complete with 6 lap
lanes, a one-meter diving board, and a tunnel slide. We
also have a separate one-foot deep, zero gradient pool that
has spraying "Lemon Drops" and a giant mushroom
waterfall that delights campers of all ages.
All of our Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors (WSI)
are Red Cross certified and all swimming classes use the
Red Cross standards for level advancement.
Each
group spends at least one period per week at the camp beach.
Campers can build sand castles, play in the shallows or
swim out to our floating dock. The beach lifeguard is "Dark
Water" certified by the Red Cross.
