The
Camp Butwin Counselor in Training (CIT) and Madrich Programs are leadership
programs for teens that have completed EIGHTH OR NINTH grade.
CIT's:
To join you must have completed 8th grade. You will be spending your session working closely with a camp specialist.
Over the course of your CIT training you will learn:
- How to lead an activity
- The basics of child development
- How to interact effectively with campler
- Basic safety information
CIT Options & Fees
Session 1: June 16-July3, $350
Session 2: July 7-25, $350
CITs receive a fee rebate of $5 for each day worked.
No CIT program offered during Session 3
Week in Residence
3days, 2nights at Camp Butwin

Session 2: July 15-17
Evening Events
Session 1: July 2, Water Park of America
Session 2: July 24, IMAX Movie

Madrichim:
To join, you must have completed 9th grade. You will be paired with camper groups and have a chance to work directly with campers.
Over the course of your training you will learn:
- How to plan an activity
- Basic first aid
- Conflict resolution
- Positive techniques to deal with behavioral and disciplinary issues
Madrich Options and Fees
Session 1: June 16-July3, $350
Session 2: July 7-25, $350
Sessions 1 & 3: June 16-July 3, July 28-August 8, $500
Sessions 2 & 3: July7-August 8, $500

You can download a 2008 application here
or pick one up at the St. Paul JCC front desk. Completed applications
must be returned by Friday, February 29, to Eve Thomas, Teen
Director & Assistant Camp Director. Interviews for CIT's & Madrichim will be scheduled during March. Space is limited—placement is not guaranteed.
CIT's and Madrichim may participate in one option only.
