CIT Program: For Teens completing 8th grade. Spend the summer paired with a camp specialist. Over the course of your CIT training you will learn: How to lead an activity The basics of child development How to interact effectively with campers Basic safety information Madrich Program: For Teens completing 9th grade. Spend the summer paired with a camper group. Work directly with campers and have a chance to be mentored by both junior and senior counselors. Over the course of your training you will learn: How to plan an activity Basic first aid Conflict resolution Positive techniques to deal with behavioral and disciplinary issues CIT & Madrich Options & Fees Session 1: June 21-July 16, 2010, $490 Session 2: July 19-August 13,2010, $490 All Summer: June 21-August 13, $980 CITs and Madrichim receive a fee rebate of $5 for each day worked. Important Dates: Evening Events Session 1: June 30 Session 2: July 28 Pre-Camp Training: CIT's and Madrichim Orientation: Sunday, May 16 and Sunday, June 13 Staff Training: June 16-18 ***CIT's must complete medical forms before participating How to Apply You can download a 2010 application here or pick one up at the St. Paul JCC front desk. Completed applications must be returned by Friday, February 26, to Sam Eberhart, Teen Director. Interviews for CIT's & Madrichim will be scheduled during March. Space is limited—placement is not guaranteed. Community Garden Intiative This summer, as part of the CIT and Madrich program, participants will have an opportunity to plan and develop a camp garden, and to then lead all ages of campers in its upkeep and health.
