Summer Theme:
L'Dor V'Dor (Generation to Generation)
This summer we will celebrate Butwin's 50th Anniversary and three generations of campers and staff spending their summers "Camp Butwin Style." Our summer programming will focus on the importance of remembering generations of the past, preparing our community and world for generations yet to come, and the history and ruach (spirit) of Camp Butwin.

We
are very excited about an incredible new addition to Camp Butwin.
A new community resource, the Lodge onthe Lake will
offer a modern conference/retreat center in a beautiful, outdoor,
natural Jewish setting just 20 minutes south of downtown.
Designed
in woodsy lodge style, the Lodge has large wooden porches
and patios. Built as a walk-out on two levels, it boasts a wall
of windows that overlooks beautiful Lake O'Brien.
The
Great Hall can seat 100 people at round tables or 200 people theater
style; it has a small stage with all of the modern audio-visual
capabilities. Camp Butwin will be one of the only retreat facilities
in Minnesota with Kosher meat and dairy kitchen areas. Additional
office space, bathroom facilities, meeting rooms and storage space
will fill out the upper level.
The
lower level has a cozy lodge feel with comfy furniture around
an inviting fireplace. On this level there is a large arts and
crafts space as well as a small chapel. The Lodge is
100% accessible in accordance with the ADA.

Extreme
Summer Adventure Comes to Butwin
Contact Eve Thomas at ethomas@stpauljcc.org with any questions or for more information.
In
2004 the St. Paul JCC launched a new program for teens completeing
7th, 8th & 9th grade. Extreme Summer Adventure was a huge hit. Designed
to fit in with teens' busy summer schedules, the program allows
teens to choose which weeks they would like to attend. Each week
is made up of a combination of social programs, leadership development,
community service, and full of fun outings, overnights, water
parks and new challenges specifically designed to meet the desires
of today’s teens.
This
summer ESA will meet at Camp Butwin each morning. They will make
their base in the new Lodge on the Lake. This will allow
the teens access to all of the great Butwin facitlites to prepare
for the trip of the day (or week). Transportation
will be provided to and from camp from four centrally located
St. Paul sites.
